At the request of the Chief of Utwa, Kan Isiah, the Trust Territory State Historic Preservation Office is considering options for managing the shipwreck site located in Utwa Harbor, Kosrae. This ship, presumed to be the Leonora, is one of the more significant historic properties located on Kosrae. While anchored in Utwa Harbor in 1874, a storm blew up and sank and the Leonora before Captain Hayes was able to move her to a safer anchorage.
