Between June 5 and 15, 2007, the Yarborough Open Site #4, 3NW303, at the Steel Creek Horse Camp located within the Buffalo National River in Newton County, Arkansas, was investigated with archeological prospection techniques including archeo-geophysics and geoarcheology. Four pollen samples were submitted for analysis from a soil core removed from the Erbie Campground site in Newton County, Arkansas. These samples were collected in connection with archaeological mitigation and geomorphic analysis. Previous attempts at pollen analysis from southeastern Missouri have proven fruitless, so this analysis was undertaken to ascertain whether or not pollen was preserved in this core.
