Pollen samples were collected from five locations in site 3324, a buried pondfield system at West Loch. Backhoe Trench 4-41, as well as Cores 1 and 2 were collected from Area 4, which included buried fishponds. Backhoe Trench 4-41 was opened immediately outside Buried Fishpond 3322. Pollen samples were collected in conjunction with the archaeological survey of an historic settlement on the edge of West Loch in the flood plain of the Honouliuli Stream. Pollen samples were collected from trenches through areas that displayed probable fishpond or pond field sediments.
