Site LA 5148, located in the Laguna Plata Archaeological District of Lea County, New Mexico, was examined. The site was situated next to a playa. Groundstone, lithic tools, and ceramics recovered either in subsurface or from the modern surface were submitted for organic residue analysis using Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR).
