Two bulk soil samples from the Temblor Range in south-central California were floated to recover charcoal and other organic fragments suitable for radiocarbon dating. Radiocarbon dating will be used for timing of earthquake events along the Cholame segment of the San Andreas fault. Botanic components and detrital charcoal were identified, and potentially radiocarbon datable material was separated.

Three bulk soil samples from the Temblor Range in south-central California were floated to recover organic fragments suitable for radiocarbon analysis. These samples were collected during a paleoseismic investigation. Botanic components and detrital charcoal in the samples were identified, and potentially radiocarbon datable material was separated.
