Site 5EA2145 consists of an isolated hearth exposed in a road cutbank west of McCoy, Colorado. Fill from the hearth was examined for pollen and macrofloral remains. The hearth had been heavily disturbed by road maintenance activities and was in danger of being destroyed; therefore, a salvage operation was undertaken to obtain radiocarbon, subsistence, and paleoclimatic samples.
