Located in south Texas, site 41MV164 is situated near the western edge of Maverick County approximately six miles east of the Rio Grande River, above an unnamed tributary of Elm Creek. The Archaic site consists of a surface scatter of fire-affected rock, chert cores and debitage. Site 41MV145 is located approximately six miles east of the Rio-Grande near the western edge of Maverick County in south Texas. The Archaic site was originally recorded as a light surface scatter of burned rock and lithic debris. Subsequent subsurface reconnaissance was conducted, revealing cultural materials to a maximum depth of 70 cmbs, with the densest artifact concentration in the upper 30 cm.
