EXAMINATION OF BULK SOIL FOR RADIOCARBON DATABLE MATERIAL FROM THE SURPRISE VALLEY, NORTHEASTERN CALIFORNIA (2005)
DOCUMENT Full-Text Kathryn Puseman.

Seven bulk soil samples from the Surprise Valley of northeastern California were floated to recover organic fragments suitable for radiocarbon analysis. These samples were recovered from trench and stream exposures across a fault scarp in latest Quaternary lacustrine, colluvial, and debris-flow sediments. Botanic components and detrital charcoal were identified, and potentially radiocarbon datable material was separated.
