A single bulk soil sample from midden deposits in a trench profile on the Senior Housing Project portion of site CA-MNT-831 in Pacific Grove, Monterey County, California, was analyzed for pollen, phytoliths, and macrofloral remains. This site is currently the oldest known site on the Monterey Peninsula, with occupation primarily during Phase I of the Early Period. Site CA-MNT -307 is located in Monterey County, California. Archaeological investigations at this large site complex included the excavation of Locus 2 and Hole in the Wall Cave.
