Archaeological monitoring of engineering evaluation/cost analysis (EE/CA) investigation of multiple dump sites DP06 at Bellows Air Force Station revealed a deeply buried wetland sediment suited for cultivation of taro. Archaeological Reconnaissance and Subsurface Testing of Proposed Project KNMD 773133, Park Complex, North Coastal Region of Bellows AFS Waimanalo, O'ahu, Hawaii (1989)
Subsurface investigations were conducted at two locations in the north coastal region of Bellows Air Force Station, O’ahu, to determine the presence of cultural deposits and to evaluate the impact of proposed construction for a multipurpose court complex and a restroom facility on archaeological resources. The auguring of thirteen test holes at the proposed, multipurpose court complex site found no indication of prehistoric cultural activity.
