An annotated bibliography of the Distant Early Warning (DEW) System. The DEW Line was an integrated chain of early warning radar and communication stations constructed between 1953 and 1957 from northwestern Alaska across northern Canada. The DEW System remained in use throughout the mid to late 1980s. In the late 1980s and early 1990s, it was replaced with the North Warning System (NWS).

This Management Action Plan (MAP) for Point Lonely Short Range Radar Station (SRRS) is intended to be a strategic document integrating the environmental restoration program into a series of response actions necessary to protect human health and the environment. Due to the dynamics inherent in the strategic planning process, the MAP represents a “snapshot” in time, requiring periodic updating to remain useful.
