This Bowl is an example of Style III from the Swarts Ruin site. Swarts ruin (sometimes known as Swartz ruin) is a Mimbres village in Grants County, southwestern New Mexico, excavated during the 1920s by H.S. and C.B. Cosgrove. This Flare rim bowl is an example of Style III from the NAN Ranch Ruin, a Mimbres site in Grants County, southwestern New Mexico. Its site number is LA2465, but it is also sometimes reported as Hinton Ruin (it is on land owned by the Hinton family) or LA15049.
