AVENUE OF THE SAINTS, MISSOURI: SUMMARY OF CLIMATE MODELS AND PALEOENVIRONMENT USING STRATIGRAPHIC POLLEN AND PHYTOLITH RECORDS (2010)
Sediment samples, collected from stratigraphic columns from three sites (23Ck57, 23Ck302, and 23Le174), were examined for pollen and phytoliths to provide information concerning the paleoenvironment along the Avenue of the Saints corridor in northeastern Missouri. The time periods represented by these stratigraphic samples include the Late Pleistocene at the base of 23Ck57, the Middle Holocene (6300-5500 BP) at 23Le174, and approximately 3510-2550 BP at 23Ck302. Bacon Pond Site
The Bacon Pond site is a kettle hole pond dating from the last glaciations of the region. The site was chosen for test excavations due to the presence of this feature. Excavators were also hopeful of reconstructing the changes in the environment over the past 12,000 years through the analysis of pollen cores. Excavations took place at the site between July 7 - July 20,1977, and from June 28 - August 3, 1978. Numerous shovel test pits and excavation squares were investigated and documented at...

Basketmaker Community Field Specimens (2020)
The Basketmaker Communities Project, a multi-faceted research and public education archaeological initiative undertaken by Crow Canyon from 2011 through 2017. The primary purpose of the Basketmaker Communities Project was to study the history and social organization of a large Basketmaker III period (A.D. 500–750) settlement in the central Mesa Verde region and to track the long-term impacts of that settlement on later populations. This dataset contains data on the field specimens from the...
