The human skeletal material recovered from the Nan Medal islets in Ponape, Federated States of Micronesia, was excavated during the spring of 1984 by Drs. J. Stephen Athens and Joyce Bath. A forensic examination of this material was undertaken at the University of Hawaii-Manoa during the 1984-85 academic year.
