Site 5RB2372 consists of a scatter of hearths located on the third alluvial terrace on the west side of Douglas Creek. The vegetation in the vicinity of this site consists of sagebrush (Artemisia), saltbush (Atriplex, a Cheno-am), mormon tea (Ephedra), greasewood (Sarcobatus), and tumbleweed (Salsola). The vegetation near Douglas Creek changes rapidly through various zones as the elevation increases from the creek to the pinon/juniper woodlands (Creasman 1981). Four hearths were selected...
