Four archaeological sites in the Vermilion Cliffs area approximately 26 miles east of Kanab, Utah were sampled for pollen/macrofloral analysis during archaeological testing. These Kayenta-Virgin Anasazi sites are located in the Sonoran vegetation zone or southwestern Utah. Local vegetation includes primarily Juniperus (juniper), Artemisia (sagebrush), and Graminae (grasses).
