Charred floral material was examined from Site 160U97 along the Ouachita River in Louisiana. This site is a multicomponent site containing prehistoric and historic components. The charred macrofloral material was recovered from two features and from an intact shell midden that is believed to date to A.D. 1250-1350, based on the ceramic assemblage and a radiocarbon date.
