EXAMINATION OF BULK SOIL AND DETRITAL CHARCOAL FROM ALONG COTTONWOOD CREEK AT SAN LUIS RESERVOIR, ORTIGALITA FAULT STUDY, CALIFORNIA (1999)
DOCUMENT Full-Text Kathryn Puseman.

Bulk soil samples and detrital charcoal from along Cottonwood Creek at the San Luis Reservoir in California were floated to recover charred organic fragments suitable for radiocarbon dating. Samples were recovered from trenches in alluvial-fan deposits along the creek in the eastern foothills of the Diablo Range. Botanic components and detrital charcoal were identified, and potentially radiocarbon datable material was separated.
