Bulk soil samples were recovered from fluvial stream terrace deposits and an alluvial fan near Dixie Valley, Nevada. The area is located approximately 50 to 75 miles east of the Carson Sink. The fluvial stream is perennial and drains nearby mountain ranges. Mountain ranges in vicinity of the study area include the Stillwater Range and the Clan Alpine Range.
