Eighteen fiber and/or wood samples were submitted for identification from several sites on the Ashley National Forest. A combination of techniques was used in the identification of these remains, which included plant bundles, burden basket construction elements, snare wood and fibers, and other basket materials.

Samples from features at several sites on the Sanchez Copper Data Recovery Project area in southeastern Arizona were examined for pollen and macrofloral remains. In addition, two stone knives with fibrous plant materials adhering to them were submitted to identify the type of fibers present. These knives are believed to have been used for slicing agave.
