The East Franklin Mountain fault is located in the area of EI Paso, Texas. A paleoseismic trench across the fault encountered at least three buried soils. The third of these, 13Kb3, radiocarbon dated to 29,520 ± 260 BP, was sampled as suspected cienega deposits in order to assist in determinating vegetation in the area during the time of development of this soil.
