The Sevenmile Gulch site is located in southwestern Wyoming within the Green River Basin. The site is situated 18 miles west of the Green River and 1.3 miles north of the Blacks Fork River. The site sits upon the crest and slopes of a low southwest- to northeast-trending ridge at 6400 feet amsl. The ridge is actually a terrace of the Blacks Fork River that has been dissected by many small, deeply cut drainages.
