Three combined pollen and macrofloral samples were submitted for analysis from sites 42WS4228 and 42WS4230 in Cave Valley, southwest Utah. Site 42WS4228 consists of a sparse lithic and ground stone scatter with ash stains and fire-cracked rock. No ceramics or diagnostic artifacts were recovered. One sample was collected from the lower fill and floor of an unlined hearth. Pollen, macrofloral, and protein residue samples were examined from site 42WN2489, located in the upper Fremont River Valley in Wayne County, Utah. The prehistoric component of the site consists of three distinct clusters of cultural material. The site is associated with Archaic Pinto Series projectile points, which generally date to 8300-6200 BP in stratified cave contexts in Utah.
