This paper will explore using automated Object Based Image Analysis (OBIA) to search for archaeological shell mound sites in thick mangrove forest. This is accomplished by combining available data from multiple remote sensing sources, integrating them using several software programs, and training the computer to search for a particular set of parameters - including height (LIDAR) and spectral qualities (Color Near-infrared).
