San Jose de Moro is an archaeological site with a long cultural sequence of near 1000 years. The first activities performed at this site were funerary, since a high quantity of funeral contexts and remains of ceremonial activity were found. During the Late Mochica Period, the site was used as sepulcher for high rank individuals who performed ritual roles for the development of the society.
