Guano Valley is located between Warner and Catlow valleys. Relative to the surrounding valleys, it has received little attention from professional archaeologists over the years despite early visits by Luther Cressman. During the 2016 field season, the Great Basin Paleoindian Research Unit (University of Nevada, Reno) began a long-term research project in Guano Valley focused on searching for Paleoindian sites in the area.
