Beef Basin is a geographic area located roughly 30 miles northwest of the Abajo Mountains in southeastern Utah. Archaeologically, Beef Basin is within the Northern San Juan Region, which has seen much recent and intensive study. Most of this research has focused on the area south of the Abajo Mountains, however, leaving the northern areas, including Beef Basin, only marginally studied.
