This letter expresses the Texas Historical Commission's concern about the status of Buildings 1052 and 2202, the historic WWII chapels at Fort Sam Houston. These buildings are scheduled for demolition, which would constitute an "adverse effect" to these historic buildings and the surrounding area.

This letter was written by the Texas Historical Commission regarding Fort Sam Houston's proposed demolition of Building 1052, Chapel #1, a Category 4 building constructed in 1943. Although the Commission regrets the project, it does accept the proposal to demolish Building 1052 and requests photographic documentation as a lasting record of the historic structure.
