This is an abstract from the session entitled "Glass Beads: Global Artefacts, Local Perspectives", at the 2023 annual meeting of the Society for Historical Archaeology. At the end of 1583, the Gagliana Grossa, a Venetian merchantman, sank near the small island of Gnalić at the south-western entrance of the Pašman Channel, Croatia. In 2014 the excavation and recording of the Gnalic shipwreck hull remains, using photogammetry and integrating standard surveying techniques within a GIS environment, continued during eight weeks. This paper describes the 2014 field season at Gnalic and presents the latest developments in the hull recording.

This paper presents the latest results of the ongoing historical and archaeological research on Gagliana grossa, a merchantman built in Venice in 1569.  It sunk while travelling from Venice to Constantinople, in November of 1583, near the small island of Gnalic, not far away from Biograd na moru, in today’s Croatia.
