This paper describes the analysis of an in situ dirt floor from a French Colonial structure in St. Charles, Missouri. The floor is a prepared floor, constructed of homogenous soil brought from off-site and is similar in thickness throughout. The only identified wall of the structure is poteaux sur sole.
