The Native Village of Eklutna (NVE) received a contract in 2006 (912CZ-05-C-0018) from USAG-AK to identify Traditional Cultural Properties (TCP) upon USAG-AK property, Fort Richardson, and within a one mile area of effect, the buffer area. The colonization process in the Baja California Peninsula began with the arrival of Hernán Cortés in Bahía de la Santa Cruz in 1535.
