This is an abstract from the session entitled "More than Pots and Pipes: New Netherland and a World Made by Trade" , at the 2022 annual meeting of the Society for Historical Archaeology. Recent archeological excavations on the east side of Van Schaick Island near Albany, New York have revealed a circa 1650 Dutch trading outpost with contemporaneous, related Mahican occupation on the site.
