Formative period archaeological sites in West-Central Colorado have stimulated debate and discussion related to its archaeological cultural classification. Indirect evidence and comparisons with recent artifact analysis for neighboring areas to the north and west of this region suggests that pan-Ancestral Puebloan culture influenced this area from 200 B.C. till A.D.1200.
