Between April 15 and April 22, 2004, archaeologists from SWCA Environmental Consultants conducted a Class III cultural resources survey of six separate parcels encompassing 750 acres on privately owned land in undeveloped portions of the Town of Maraña. In April 2007, SWCA Environmental Consultants (SWCA) completed archaeological testing of seven sites on 1,896 acres of privately owned land for the proposed Villages of Tortolita development.
