Brockington and Associates, Inc. conducted an intensive archaeological survey of 1,801.2 hectares of the Charleston Naval Weapons Station (CNWS) in April 1999 - July 2000. Approximately 1,156 hectares of the CNWS remain to be surveyed when the present surveyed lands are combined with lands examined during previous investigations (1,123.6 hectares) and lands that are developed or disturbed (1,413.4 hectares).
