MACROFLORAL ANALYSIS OF BULK SEDIMENT SAMPLES TO IDENTIFY CHARRED REMAINS SUITABLE FOR AMS RADIOCARBON DATING FROM ANTELOPE VALLEY NEAR TOPAZ LAKE, CALIFORNIA-NEVADA BORDER (2009)
DOCUMENT Full-Text Kathryn Puseman. Melissa K. Logan.

Bulk soil samples from paleoseismic trenches were examined to recover charred material suitable for AMS radiocarbon dating. These trenches were excavated across the active fault bounding the west side of Antelope Valley near Topaz Lake along the California-Nevada border. Botanic components and detrital charcoal were identified, and potentially radiocarbon datable material was separated.
