In 2006, the Native Village of Eklutana, a federally recognized Tribe, acquired a National Park Service Historical Preservation Grant to seek out those physical landscapes along the periphery of Nuti (Knife Arm), from Point Woronzof up to the Knik River and back down to Point Mackenzie, that have a Dena'ina name.
