Bacon Pond Site

The Bacon Pond site is a kettle hole pond dating from the last glaciations of the region. The site was chosen for test excavations due to the presence of this feature. Excavators were also hopeful of reconstructing the changes in the environment over the past 12,000 years through the analysis of pollen cores.
