The Depression Site (48SW13490) is located southeast of Point of Rocks at the eastern edge of the Rock Springs Uplift in Sweetwater County, southwestern Wyoming. Rose Springs points recovered from the Trench 7 block indicate a Late Prehistoric occupation. The Trench 8 block yielded evidence of two occupations, an Upper component, which is attributed to Rose Springs people of the Late Prehistoric, and a Lower component that appears to represent an Archaic occupation.
