The Albany Family Courts lie at an elevation of 60-65 feet above mean sea level and overlook the Hudson River to the east and Fox Creek valley to the south. European settlers have occupied the site since the second half of the 1700s, although Albany was settled by the Dutch in the early 1600s. Feature 17, a circular stone well, was later used as a privy.
