Site 10EL217, situated across the river from Bancroft Springs, lies on a terrace overlooking the Snake River in Pasadena Valley. The test unit was excavated into alluvial fan sediments that overlie the river terrace sediments. Previous radiocarbon analysis suggests this area has been occupied at least intermittently for the past 3,300 years.
