A pedestrian archeological survey covering 3,255 acres (1,317 hectares) was conducted at the Camp Bullis Military Reservation in Bexar and Comal Counties, Texas, during October–December 1999 and April–May 2000, by personnel from Prewitt and Associates, Inc. The investigations resulted in the documentation of 39 new archeological sites consisting of 28 sites with only prehistoric components, 8 sites with only historic components, and 3 sites with both prehistoric and historic components....

Most archeological materials found in caves were primarily in secondary contexts, having been deposited from the surface by natural processes such as sheetwash or overland flow. This letter serves as comment by the Texas Historical Commission on the proposed undertaking of Karsts Research at Camp Bullis. The Commission suggests that a Programmatic Agreement be developed to govern standard operating procedures when human remains or artifacts are disturbed during karst excavations at Camp Bullis.
