The Aurora site was previously named the Harris site after the family name of the landowner. Shovel testing was carried out at this site from July 25, 1978 to Aug. 3, 1978. Crews returned and continued shovel testing the following summer from July 25, 1979 to July 30, 1979. Shovel test pits were excavated throughout the test area which encompasses the two separate swampy areas on the Harris farm.
