The Shivwits Plateau Survey (1991)

Similarity in Design Symmetry and Style Between Trincheras Rock Art and Hohokam Ceramic Design: Implications for Parallel Meanings (1986)
There are petroglyphs from Cerro Calera, Caborca, Sonora whose stylistic structure indicates planning and characteristics identical to banded patterns found on Hohokam pottery. Symmetry is used to make formalized descriptions and comparisons between this Trincheras rock art and Hohokam ceramic two-dimensional patterns.
