High Point Plantation (9MC66), located on the north end of Sapelo Island (Figure 1), has a complex and intriguing history. This site also possesses a certain element of archaeo¬logical ambiguity concerning its nature, and even its location. A primary purpose of the survey and testing program carried out at High Point by the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga during the summer of 2007 was to substantially reduce, if not eliminate, many of these uncertainties.
