This paper deals with the changing structure of rural settlement in the Late Middle Ages and Early Modern Period in South Bohemia. At this time there occurred a transformation process in existing village settlement as result of reduction and restructuring of settlements. The Early Modern Period brought a qualitative change in the organization, and growth in the use, of land.
