Midland Site #8 (20MD38), is a multi-component prehistoric site located in Chippewassee Park, Midland County, Michigan. The site was originally situated on stratified floodplain alluvium near the confluence of the Chippewa and Tittabawasee Rivers. POLLEN ANALYSIS FOR SAMPLES FROM SITE 33LI1948, LICKING COUNTY, OHIO (2011)
Site 33Li1948, a small Middle Woodland occupation located in Licking County, Ohio, was sampled for pollen during Phase II site evaluation. Samples examined represent post molds, pits and possible pits, and control samples. Pollen analysis was used to identify vegetation growing in the vicinity of the site at the time of occupation and to search for evidence of economic activity.
POLLEN ANALYSIS OF A WOODLAND MIDDEN AT 15GD44, GARRARD COUNTY, KENTUCKY (2002)
Two samples were examined from a Woodland site (15GD44) in Garrard County, Kentucky. These samples represent a midden and the overlying disturbed horizon. The midden was examined in an effort to identify plant remains discarded by Woodland occupants of this site.
POLLEN AND PHYTOLITH ANALYSIS OF CIRCULAR EARTHWORK SAMPLES FROM THE FORT CENTER SITE, 8GL13, GLADES COUNTY, FLORIDA (2011)
Fort Center, located in Glades County, Florida, provides evidence of Late Archaic; Early, Middle, and Late Woodland, Belle Glades, Calusa, Protohistoric, Seminole, and finally 19th and 20th century occupations. Thus, occupation at this 2.5 square km earthwork site dates between 800 BC and at least the late 1800s (Victor Thompson, personal communication, September 2010).
