The Arizona Canal is the northernmost canal in the water distribution system of the Salt River Project, located within the urban center of Phoenix in Central Arizona. The Salt River Valley, at the time of the canal's construction in 1883, already had canals on both the north and south side of the Salt River irrigating portions of the Valley.
