Part of the Tosawihi Quarries Archaeological Investigations by Intermountain Research project
Creator(s): R. Elston
Year: 1990
Summary
This variable identifies whether a side of a biface could be identified as the former ventral surface of a flake. If it could then this became Side 1; if not Side 1 was indeterminate. The value of this field is it indicates whether a biface was made on a flake (of some size). Lack of a ventral side does not necessarily mean the tool was NOT made on a flake.
