Wayland Smith

Cameron is the more common name but to avoid confusion with the Seneca site named Cameron, Wayland Smith is used (a.k.a. Ond 8-4). It is an Oneida site located in Munnsville, Oneida Co. It dates to around A.D. 1600. Sample = 390 vessels. The combined collections of Theodore Whitney of New Berlin, Stanford Gibson of Norwich, Fred Chesbro of Sherburne, and Lawrence Taylor of New Berlin = 232, Peter Pratt of Oswego = 64, Glenn Cheesbrough of Sylvan Beach = 44, Henry Wemple of Vernon Center = 43, Colgate Univ. = 4, and Mrs. Thurston of Sherrill = 3. These ceramic attributes were recorded in 1969.
